PUBLICATION ETHICS

Publication Ethics is a statement of the code of ethics for all parties involved in the publication process of the Jurnal Suara Keadilan: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum Universitas Muria Kudus, including the Editor in Chief, Managing Editor, Editor, Layout Editor, Reviewer, and Author. This ethical guideline is created to ensure that the publication of articles in the Jurnal Suara Keadilan: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum Universitas Muria Kudus is conducted in a structured, good, responsible manner and in compliance with applicable legal norms. 

Publication ethics fundamentally uphold three values, in accordance with the regulation of the Head of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Scientific Publication Ethics :

  1. Neutrality, which means free from conflicts of interest in publication management;
  2. Fairness, which means granting authorship rights to those entitled as authors/writers;
  3. Honesty, which means free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publication.
  4. Therefore, all parties involved in the publication process of Jurnal Suara Keadilan: Jurnal Ilmu Hukum Universitas Muria Kudus must adhere to these publication ethics guidelines according to their respective roles.

Role of Author

  • The author submitted an original publication manuscript.
  • The author must maintain the truth, benefits, and meaning of the information conveyed through the submitted manuscript.
  • Authors must uphold the rights, opinions, or findings of others. Therefore, referencing or reviewing the rights, opinions, or findings of others related to the article manuscript being created is necessary and must mention the source of the information.
  • Authors must fully realize not to commit scientific misconduct, whether it is fabrication (creating fictitious data), falsification (altering data as desired), and plagiarism (taking words, sentences, or texts from others without providing proper citations), including self-plagiarism. (menduplikasi publikasi karya sendiri atau mengambil sebagian dari karya sendiri yang sudah dipublikasikan tanpa memberikan rujukan sitasinya).
  • The author must convey information in the manuscript using standard language methods.
  • Authors must ensure that the names of the people included as authors, in cases where there is more than one author, are individuals who have contributed to the writing of the manuscript.
  • Authors must pay attention to the journal's policies and publication ethics, as well as follow the writing guidelines of the Journal of Justice Voice: Journal of Law Science, Muria Kudus University. Authors do not resubmit articles that have been submitted to the Journal of Justice Voice: Journal of Law Science, Muria Kudus University to other media or publication journals, unless the manuscript has been rejected.
  • Authors are collectively responsible for their article manuscripts. Therefore, the Author must carefully review the submitted manuscript at every stage and section to ensure that the methods, analysis, and findings are reported accurately.
  • The author revised the article manuscript according to the suggestions from the Editor and Reviewer.
  • Authors must immediately inform the Editor if they find errors in the submitted, accepted, and published manuscript.
  • Role of Editor in Chief

Role of Editor

  • The Editor in Chief must process the incoming manuscripts and inform the authors of the corresponding stages that are underway.
  • The Editor in Chief assesses the initial feasibility of the manuscript for continuation or not processing its editing based on the journal's policies, publication ethics, and article writing guidelines in the Journal of Justice Voice: Journal of Law Science, Muria Kudus University. The Editor in Chief distributes the editing tasks to members of the editorial board, considering their fields of expertise and workload.
  • The Editor in Chief selects, determines, and appoints Reviewer members based on their expertise.
  • The Editor in Chief decides the eligibility of the manuscript for publication based on the Reviewer’s notes.
  • The Editor in Chief must avoid conflicts of interest in processing article manuscripts due to gender, ethnicity, religion, race, and group identity.
  • The Editor in Chief guarantees the confidentiality of the article manuscript during the editing process except for academic or scientific purposes, and does not misuse it for personal gain.
  • The Editor in Chief is responsible for the publication process of the Jurnal Suara Keadilan.


Role of Reviewer

The editor corrects and evaluates the manuscript to ensure it is suitable for substantive review by the Reviewer based on journal policies, publication ethics, and the writing guidelines of Jurnal Suara Keadilan. The editor corrects the manuscript by adhering to scientific and standard writing conventions. The editor ensures that citations and references are in accordance with the style guide of Undang: Jurnal Hukum. The editor must avoid conflicts of interest in correcting the manuscript due to gender, ethnicity, religion, race, and group identity. The editor guarantees the confidentiality of the manuscript during editing except for academic or scientific purposes and does not misuse it for personal gain.
Role of Reviewer

1. The reviewer examines the article manuscript and provides comments on its content based on the journal's policies, publication ethics, and the writing guidelines of the Journal of Justice Voice.

2. The reviewer assesses the likelihood of the publication eligibility of the examined article manuscript (accepted, accepted with minor revisions, accepted with major revisions, or rejected) based on the journal's policy, publication ethics, and the writing guidelines of the Suara Keadilan Journal.

3. Reviewers must avoid conflicts of interest in examining and evaluating article manuscripts due to gender, ethnicity, religion, race, and group identity.

4. The reviewer guarantees the confidentiality of the article manuscript during the review process except for academic purposes.
